O Festival do Deserto é um festival que acontece todo ano no o Deserto na Primavera nos dias 15, 16 e 17. Ao contrário dos dias sem festival, os jogadores podem entrar no deserto antes de Pam normalmente chegar ao ponto de ônibus, mesmo que o evento comece oficialmente às 10h todos os dias. Porém, no último dia do festival. Este evento exige que o ônibus seja reparado para poder visitar o festival.

A loja da Sandy não estará aberta durante o festival, mas o jogador ainda poderá entrar no Oásis. A Comerciante do Deserto ainda está presente e sua loja está acessível.

Vários desafios e atrações oferecem a possibilidade de ganhar a moeda do festival, Ovos Calico. Os Ovos Calico são itens físicos dentro do jogo que podem ser usados para comprar itens de várias lojas durante o Festival do Deserto. Os ovos são transferidos de um dia para o outro. No entanto, eles desaparecerão dos baús ou do inventário no final do festival e não serão salvos para o ano seguinte.

As corridas

Emily's Outfit Services

Every day, Emily and Sandy offer the player a random new outfit with a short cutscene, in which Emily will pick the clothing that "embodies the player". The player's original outfit is placed in their inventory. If the player tries to re-enter the hut in which the clothing service happens, the player will be blocked from entering, with Emily saying that the player looks great in their new outfit. On days where Emily runs a Villager Shop, Sandy will take over after a bit of hesitation.

There are 61 total makeover outfits: 34 gender-neutral, 13 male-only, and 14 female-only.^[4] Each outfit consists of a shirt, a pant, and possibly a hat. Of note, the Dark Ballcap, Joja Cap, and Laurel Wreath Crown can be obtained with three of the gender-neutral outfits. In addition, the Tight Pants can be obtained from a few outfits.

Chef

The Chef gives the player a choice of ingredients to make them a meal with varying effects depending on the ingredients chosen. The player may do so repeatedly and choose different ingredients each time. The meal will be eaten; any effects will be applied immediately and last for 7 minutes.^[5] The buffs from dishes are a combination of buffs from both ingredient choices, e.g; Crystal Cake grants both Mineração (+3) and Sorte (+1) buffs.

Any dish will restore the player to maximum health and energy.^[5] In addition, these dishes will stack with any food or drink buffs from the player.

Free Cactus

Once per festival, the player may obtain a cactus decor item from the Cactus Salesman at the bottom of the map. This decor is one out of several, and its face, colors, and design vary. The player must have an empty inventory slot to receive the cactus.^[5]

Caverna da caveira

Durante o Festival do Deserto, Marlon oferece missões relacionadas à Caverna da caveira de um dia que premiarão o jogador com Ovos Calico se concluídos. Existem 3 tipos de missões oferecidas; 2 serão mostrados aleatoriamente a cada dia.^[6] O jogador não precisa ter obtido a Chave de Caveira para entrar na Caverna da caveira durante o festival, e a Caverna da caveira funciona normalmente (incluindo Invasão na Caverna da Caveira e Perigo nas Profundezas; como tal, se o modo difícil for ativado, poderá ser desativado antes do festival!).

A Caverna da Caveira tem algumas adições que são exclusivas do Festival do Deserto. Existem nós de mineração de Ovos Calico que, quando extraídos, rendem data-sort-value="1-3"> 1-3.^[7] Os jogadores também podem obter data-sort-value="1-3"> 1-3 por matar monstros e quebrar caixotes e barris. A chance de encontrar nós de Ovos Calico aumentam constantemente à medida que os jogadores descem a Caverna.^[8] Isso também é vale para chances de queda de monstros e barris. A chance de queda de monstro varia de 2%-50%^[9], enquanto a chance de queda dos barris tem um máximo de 33%^[10].

Os jogadores também ganham 1 Ovo Calico para cada 5 andares alcançados e cada estátua de Calico ativada. Talking to Gil presents the option to submit the day's highest Egg Rating for prizes. These prizes, based on the player's Egg Rating, include Calico Eggs, food, drinks, and other items.^[5]

Harvey's Medical Station

Se o jogador perder toda a Saúde na Caverna da caveira e for nocauteado, ele despertará na "loja" de Harvey localizada no festival ao lado da entrada da Caverna. O jogador despertará com 10 de Saúde, e eles não perderão nenhuma Energia adicional ou Ouro. O jogador manterá seus itens, mas perderá 20% dos Ovos Calico em seu inventário.^[17] Conversar com Harvey resultará no mesmo diálogo de antes do jogador morrer.

Willy's Fishing Quests

Willy offers one-day fishing-related quests that will award the player Calico Eggs upon completion. There is a different quest for each day of the festival.^[5] On Spring 17, the Golden Bobber will appear in the first Treasure Chest fished up.^[20]

Estudioso

O Estudioso faz ao jogador uma série de quatro perguntas. Se todas as quatro respostas estiverem corretas, a recompensa será de data-sort-value="50"> 50. Após uma rodada bem-sucedida de perguntas, o jogador deve esperar até o próximo ano para receber outra recompensa. As perguntas são aleatórias toda vez que são feitas.

Uma das perguntas pede que o jogador se lembre do número total de passos dados. Três opções são dadas. A ordem das opções é aleatória, mas o valor do meio sempre estará correto.^[21]

Traveling Cart

The Traveling Cart makes an appearance with her standard cart, sporting an umbrella over the pig's head. A selection of the usual items is sold (with a new re-randomized stock for each of the 3 days), including the Wedding Ring recipe in a Multiplayer game. The shop opens at 12 pm.

Villager Attendees

Like the Night Market, villagers will deviate from their regular schedules to attend the Desert Festival. The lists below show which villagers attend on which days each year.

If a villager hosts a Villager Shop, then this will override their regular schedules (e.g., they may appear at the Desert Festival on days they normally would not).^[3]
